GATHERING DATA ON HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS AND REACTION MECHANISMS

Mikhail leads research and advocacy work in Russian-speaking countries, with a particular focus on drug policy issues. He has been involved extensively in building the capacity of community legal workers in Russia and continues to provide assistance in challenging cases related to drug use and human rights before various regional and international bodies, including the European Court of Human Rights and the UN Human Rights Committee. 

Maria is a sociologist by training and is the program specialist in drug policy and human rights for EHRA. She has 7 years’ experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGO’s), both in think-tanks and in organizations engaged in the education of, and in providing assistance to, representatives of socially unprotected groups. In her work, Maria combines her practical experience with current scientific approaches.

He has been involved in LGBT activism for over 8 years, starting in Ukraine and now working internationally on monitoring and documentation of human rights violations in CCECA, as well as raising awareness of LGBT-community on meaningful engagement with human rights mechanisms.
At the moment Yuri actively invovled with UN Treaty Bodies in promotions of SOGI-based equality and non-discrimination.
